BetteBack February 15, 1973: Bette Midler Fan Has Ticket Complaint

Canandaigua Daily Messenger

Being an avid fan of Bette Midler I rushed to get tickets when I heard she would be in town. 1 asked for two, main floor center, hoping to get in the first few rows, only to find that the “best” available were in the fourth row on the far right. There were none for the center main floor, I was told, because the promoters had taken them for their use. Is the public always treated this way? W.H.

The secretary – treasurer of the Association of Theater Press Agents and Managers says that customarily the promoter of a show will set aside a certain number of seats for his or the performers‘ use. Read More

BetteBack August 26, 1973: Sensitive Midler a Sure Bet to Continue Ascent as Singing Star

The Sunday Denver Post
August 26, 1973

7-1-2012 6-30-50 PM

IN A WORD, Bette Midler is hot.

Her first album, “The Divine Miss M,” has sold several hundred thousand copies. Her concerts are consistently sold out, she already has signed for three television specials, and they are looking at film scripts for her. Her fans are so loyal it borders on the fanatical, yet many are wondering what is going on.

Aside from all the credits, huzzahs and ballyhoo, just who, what, and (as Ms. magazine put it in a cover story) why is Bette Midler? The who and what are fairly clear cut, so we will start with those. Read More

Charlotte Church thinks Kim Kardashian West is “a t*t” for lashing out at Bette Midler following her naked selfie post.

Despite branding the reality TV star “f*****g gorgeous”, the 30-year-old singer and outspoken feminist believes the way she treated the acting legend – who she traded blows with on Twitter after she shared a photograph of herself online standing nude in her bathroom – was wrong. Read More
