My first movie was Outrageous Fortune. It was a baptism of fire because we had the classic problems. The studio hated Bette Midler’s wardrobe and hair and made a meltdown over it. Bette Midler and Shelley Long didn’t get along resulting in a large fracas to which Jeffrey Katzenberg said to Robert and I when we phoned up about it, ‘That’s why you guys are producers and I am a studio executive. I don’t have to deal with it. You take care of it.’
