This Is Spinal Tap, a 1984 “mockumentary” about a fictitious British rock band, has been named the best rock movie on DVD by Rolling Stone. School of Rock star Jack Black tells the magazine that the only way rock music works on the big screen “is by making fun of it as you embrace it. That’s what Spinal Tap did, and that’s why it’s so great.” School of Rock, still in theaters, was not eligible. The top 12:
