I just received an email from a huge Bette Midler fan (13 years plus) that works in the movie trailer business named, Care. I am so grateful because I haven’t found the winners announced anywhere yet…so I can make believe that I have an EXCLUSIVE….LOL
Anyway, a little more about Care! She has met Bette several times. She’s a New Yorker who moved to L.A. to work in the movie business.
I don’t feel like I’m writing well today, so I’ll let her words do the speaking…she’s more eloquent!:
“I just wanted to let you know that the Golden Trailer Awards were held in L.A. last night (May 25th). This award show brings the motion picture advertising industry together from all over the world, and celebrates all of the people, time, and work that goes into producing a theatrical movie trailer, which is something
that tends to go unrecognized. Awards were given out in 17 categories, and the Stepford Wives took all of the categories they were nominated for!
The Stepford Wives teaser won for “Most Original” “Summer 2004 Blockbuster“, and “Best In Show.” Unfortunately, my company’s trailers lost to TSW in all of those categories, but since its a Bette Midler movie, I can rest easily.
But it looks like The Stepford Wives may turn out to be a summer blockbuster, based on the response and publicity it is getting. Good luck to Bette and all of those involved in the production of The Stepford Wives!

I’d just like to really thank Care for sharing this with all of us. Hopefully, she’ll be able to share more stories with us in the future. And hopefully, one day, she’ll be working on one of Bette’s trailers or movies….
