Don’t want to embarrass the “old” guy! ( I do believe he’s 24!), but today is Darrell Redmond’s Birthday! So Happy Birthday Darrell!!! And may this be your happiest, healthiest, and most productive year ever…it’s your time to shine, I say. 🙂
I would just like to personally thank you for being such a good friend to me…I would say my best friend, even though we have never met. I know many might find that odd, but in this day and age with all our technological advances, I’d say not. I love our emails, but more than that I love our telephone chats….and folks we talk several hours a week about everything (about some of YOU LADIES AND GERMS!, alot of ME!!! and a little DARRELL…LOL, and life in general)…without any outside interference…so it’s a great way to get to know someone. And I really treasure those phone calls.
Anyway, Darrell, you are very special to me, and I just wanted to say that publicly and proudly. And, yes, people, Barry knows that Darrell and I are close. In fact, he encourages those looooonnnnggggg phone calls with Darrell because that means the less time he has to talk to me!!!! After 25 years, it does get kind of old…LOL
Also, if it weren’t for Darrell, there never would have been a dang Bootleg Betty! It was Darrell and Barry that sparked my interest in computers and encouraged me through all of my diva tantrums when I didn’t understand anything. And when I had ideas, Darrell just showed me how to bring them into fruition!
So, Darrell, I love you as a great friend! I think about you when I play certain songs… “You’ve Got A Friend,” “Your Song,” “Martha,” “My Buddy,” “One Man Guy….” and many more…yeah some may have themes of underlying romanticism in them but that’s not the way I mean them (so people, get real!)…it’s just a basic thought….maybe just the title or maybe a song I know you like or might like…but the thought is there…
So, today is your day….enjoy it…eat, drink (i know you don’t, but do it til you barf!), and be GAY!!! And go see that damn Harry Potter movie….NERD!!!
And for the rest of you…at least go visit his beautiful tribute to Bette’s early career. I guarantee that you won’t be sorry. Check out Bette On The Boards: Click Here
Happy Birthday, my friend, Darrell….and many more!!!
Love, Mister D
