Michael Buble has decided to forego the Grammy’s and go to a hockey game instead. He’s a little miffed that his category in which he is nominated with the likes of Bette Midler, Tony Bennett, and Smokey Robinson won’t be televised. He said it will probably go to Tony Bennett anyway, so why bother. Sounds like a bad sport, but like Chris Rock used to say, “BUT I UNDERSTAND.” Whether Bette attends is still to be seen
Love, Mister D

Mister D: Bette Has friends here in Nashville, and just from her periodic visits here to search for new material for albums, I have heards that she goes relatively unrecognized. But then this community kind of lets people be anyway. Wy and Nicole Kidman have been spotted at Target, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw at Blockbuster, and Keith Urban at Starbucks, where people don’t even bother them at all. Kind of cool!

Mr. Durham made a bet with his students that if the Eagles didn't make it to the Super Bowl he would sing and dance on stage for the students and faculty. Well, you guessed it...the only Eagles that might even have the chance of going to the Super Bowl is the singing group, and that ain't happening either...sorry, it's Prince! yay! So the Eagles didn't make it, and Mr. Durham kept his promise like a great teacher does. After perusing through lord knows how many songs, he picked The Divine Miss M's, "Higher & Higher." It has a great message, incredible energy, and enough enthusiasm to blow off the roof! His performance is so cute and inspired, I was laughing and tearing up at the same time. (Okay, I'm a little sentimental!) You can hear the enthusiasm and fun in the room...it's contagious...another sign of a good teacher.
Mister D: This was one of my favorite scenes in “Outrageous Fortune,” but it didn’t include Bette! 🙁 Sorry ladies and germs!
How Disney did it
Canadian Business Online, January 18, 2007
During his 21-year tenure at Disney, Michael Eisner grew the company from US$7 billion to US$20 billion in in revenue. Eisner recently spoke to a group of Toronto businesspeople and revealed how he did it.
DISNEY LESSON #1: Creativity and fiscal responsibility can go hand in hand
Eisner says Disney was successful because of a philosophy he championed called “creativity in a box.†Meaning: when you develop a new initiative, you’re creating a box that should include both creativity and financial discipline. (Decide the size of the box, says Eisner, by analyzing your likely ROI.)

Mister D: I just want to make it clear that I’m not discouraging you to vote. You don’t ever know how these things are going to turn out. Just don’t be disappointed if at the last minute some “Cupid” votes come flying in like the Wicked Witch of the West or those Flying Monkeys from “The Wizard of Oz!”
Over on Rebecca’s BetteMidlerOnline site a Stoopid “Coopid” (actually he’s smart, but sometimes that undoes you…but sometimes, because life is unfair, it works. But as we all know, what goes round, comes round) admitted to writing a script to vote for “Cupid” repeatedly. Anyway, the reason there was such a high jump in yesterday’s poll, with Cupid’s 25% rise at the time within an hour it seems, was because one overzealous fan supposedly wrote a script that could vote 6 times per second. That’s why the rapid rise. ( Now I don’t know if that boast is that accurate, but the votes came in at a very fast rate.) I replied to him on Rebecca’s site and it looks like he has laid off, but we’re so behind, it would take forever anyway to catch up. And then, if you keep voting, you never know if he’ll start the script up again. I don’t want to discourage anyone from voting, especially if you haven’t yet, so please do. My theory is that they will release the top 3 anyway.

Just BookMark This Link To Your Desktop And Open And Close It To Repeatedly Vote!
Right Click And Save As Short Cut To Your Desktop. You can open it…Vote….close it…open it again…vote again!
We are in a dead heat race against the Cupid DVD series. There are fans of that (what is it?) who say that the Bette DVD series release will never see the light of day in this poll. We can not lose to a poofter with an arrow. Put this cherub to sleep until Valentine’s Day. We don’t have much time. I think the deadline is the 24th or 29th. It could be the voices in my head, I don’t know.
You can get 2 votes in by clicking both links that are on my page at top in the red box. The second link is the easiest, but the first link, please read what to do. You can also vote multiple times by closing down your browser and voting each time you open it back up.

This comes from Becci BetteHead (I like the sound of that!)
Hey, just FYI… you can vote SEVERAL times a day with any browser. My friend Megan has Internet Explorer and she voted a zillion times the other day… as did I, but I have Mozilla Firefox. So, you can pass that along if you want. All you have to do is close out of your browser entirely, and then open it back up and vote again. If you have another browser open, it won’t let you vote again. So, you just have to have one browser open and then vote, then close out and re-open… and repeat as many times as your heart desires. Megan and I voted while we chatted .. this weekend and we brought Bette from like 19% up to whatever she was when she was first place above that dumb Cupid!!! Which took a long time! It took like 15 votes to move her one hundredth of a percent!!!
