Well, there seems to be two more candidates (adding up to six total) in the running for whatever Ms. Winfrey has cooked up. People are either being contacted by phone or email and then asked to send something else in…like their photo and pictures of their room or shrine. And so far they are all young and pretty or young and handsome.

I’m glad I didn’t participate…my video may have just cracked their television…:-) But of course, not everyone reads BLB and not everyone who did would necessarily write and tell me. I just have a feeling we’re going to see a group and not one singular winner. I think this would almost be better…I just want to see people I know or have heard of…even the “mean” people…oh yes! 🙂
From what I gather everything should be wrapped up by the end of January as far as annoucing the winner and such. I can’t wait….it’s going to be exciting for someone or “someones” (yeah, bad grammar, I know, but I feel a little redneck tonight and proud to be one….but for only this night.

I have been contacted by Oprah’s producers as well – Doe anyone here know what exactly they are planning? Is it a contest of some sorts or are they looking to fill Oprah’s audience with Bette fans when they tape their show with Bette as the guest?
The producers E Mailed me asking for some personal infromation.
I have no clue what the intention is. I had asked Bette’s camp about it and they didn’t know anything about a contest, but you know Oprah has something planned.
This is just a guess on my part, but I have a feeling they will pick a group of fans to be on the show like they had when Celine was on…kind of like I said in the post above.
Did any of you that were contacted ask any questions of the producers. If not, write them back and ask. The most they can do is say “fuck off”….none of your business…it’s worth a try.

Jack: You know that is a very good possibility about everyone going to the Vegas show. If Oprah held the show in Vegas…it’s probably what will happen. Doesn’t she do that quite a bit????

Okay – Just received another E Mail from the producer at Harpo who has been contacting me. She said they are not ready to reveal their special Bette plans as they are still in the research phase of things.
As of today (01/10) Oprah’s people have removed the link looking for fans on oprah.com – They must now have all the fans they need to tape their Bette show and I assume we will all be notified soon as to who will be invited – GOOD LUCK everyone!
I was so excited when I read that only finalists were contacted. I did receive an e-maail, and responded with a second letter and a picture but have not heard anything back yet. I am selfishly sad to hear that others have been contacted several times. As long as someone who is kind and thoughtful gets it, I think that’s cool. I just wish I was still in the running!
Just because you weren’t contacted several times doesn’t mean you’re out I wouldn’t think. Maybe you gave them all the info they needed at the time. Supposedly they’ll have everything figured out by the 31st….so chin up…
