Tiddies Flying Around Everywhere!
Happy Birthday To My Houseguest, Katrin
Happy 26th Anniversary to Me and Mister B

Mister D:

Wow, I just woke up and realized what a busy day this was going to be. Blogging and stealing for BLB. However, there are a couple of things I must mention.

BetteHead Katrin (from Germany), one of my recent houseguests turns the amazing age of 30 today! I just want to wish her the happiest of birthdays and to make this decade a celebration of her life. The third decade I had my most fun, but I also learned valuable lessons…it will be up to you my dear Katrin what you do with those lessons. In other words, don’t skimp and fuck up on them like I did….LOL I know you won’t. From your visit, I could tell you love life, you’re very vibrant, extremely smart, and beautiful, too. You will do fabulous (same for you Crystal, but it’s not your damn birthday and you’re in the wrong decade, so wait your dang turn,.) Anywho…Barry and I loved having you both. Thanks for Ernie…I teased when I said he was dead…I was just hugging him too hard and he lost his breath. We miss you both already. Katrin have a great trip home Sunday.

Mister D:

Now, Barry and I joined this couple’s group (heads out of the gutter, please) so as to meet other couples to do fun things….like go to dinners, movies, plays, etc….none of which we have done…LOL BUT, they send out messages to everybody on important days like birthday’s and anniversaries. Well, I’ll be damned if it isn’t Mister B and I’s 26th anniversary! We have never, ever remembered it in all these years, so now we’re at a loss for words…and what do you do? Shouldn’t we have gotten presents all these years????? Damn it. I never do anything the right way, except of course, on my beauteous Bootleg Betty! So, we will hopefully be celebrating our 26th this weekend or trying to kill one another due to the length of time we have endured…..well, my monstrosities…but that’s another matter!

Mister D:

Well, I’m stealing from my friends over at the Strip Podcast because of itcy fingers….well, I steal all articles, but I do have them as a link under Bette’s Vegas information….where am I on their site???. 🙂 This site was supposed to be my scrapbook, not a cult blog. Who Hoots? Any Hoots, it was just too hard not to grab anyway….it deals with my favorite reality show, “Project Runway.” Plus it was either Crystal or Katrin who said the show should go to Vegas and dress Bette! first!:

Bette Midler Hearts Project Runway, “The Chubby One” and “The Chinese Girl”

At the media “Meet and Mingle” with Bette Midler tonight at Caesars Palace, I noted to Bette that it was a shame she’d pulled the “Pope-in-a-sex-club” clip of Michael Kors from “Project Runway” from a video montage segment in “The Showgirl Must Go On.” And somehow, that led to a lengthy chat about the only reality show I’ve ever watched, one that my companion, Amy, podcasts about every Wednesday with her sister, Bay, on special editions of her “Grits To Glitz” podcast.

Turns out, Bette Midler is a HUGE “Runway” fan, although she was a little bit behind because, well, she’s been staging a frigging $10 million Vegas show. So there Amy and I were, catching her up on who the finalists were. It was awful funny — she did hand motions for the hair of each of the three, Jillian, Rami and Christian. She specifically mentioned how she really liked this week’s casualty, Chris March (or, as she kindly said, “the Chubby One,”), and seemed turned on by the idea when Amy suggested she hire him for some costumes for the show.

But she was mainly ticked off, she said, that “The Chinese One” was auf’d. That would be VictorYA. “She was the one making the most commercial stuff,” Bette said.

Later, Amy and I chatted with Toni Basil, the “Mickey” singer and Bette’s longtime choreographer. Basil noted that Bette is a good friend of Michael Kors. And Amy made the suggestion that someone ought to bend the ears of Kors’ and “Runway” brass to get them to come to Vegas in Season Five and design an outfit for Bette’s show! As Amy noted, the judges are frequently dismissing various designs as “too Vegas.” Well, if they can do professional female wrestlers, surely they can go right into the heart of the beast and do a real Vegas challenge. And the cross-promotional potential is ginormous, especially since Kors just opened his first Vegas boutique, at the Palazzo.

And I’ll make the vow right here and now: If “Runway” comes to Vegas, I’ll find a national media outlet to take a piece on it. If it’s the last thing I do. Which, God knows, it could be.

The gauntlet has been thrown.

Oh, and I asked Bette who she thought would win the show. “Oh, I know,” she said. Who? I asked. “I’m not gonna tell you!” she cackled.

Bette Midler, Caesars Palace to release: “The Showgirl Must Go On”

Exclusive Limited Edition Hand Signed Giclee Prints

Jim Costello, President of Ojai Fine Art Printers, Valley of the Moon Giclees, www.vomarts.com, has teamed up with the award winning Los Angeles based graphic designer, restaurateur, and Renaissance man: Rod Dyer, www.roddyerinternational.com to conceive, print, and publish two Original Tru-Giclee Fine Art Prints in an edition of 500 pieces, plus 10 artists proofs, signed by The Diva, Bette Midler, and marketed exclusively through Bette’s Caesars Palace store which opened outside the Caesars Coliseum February 15, in Las Vegas.

The Hand Signed Limited Edition Giclee’s release coincides with Bette’s two year engagement at Caesars beginning February 20, 2008. The two Giclees are: 1. “A Friendship Collage” created by Rod from found items that were given to Bette; 2. The second Giclee Print is a fabulously brilliant graphic design & ad campaign, created by Rod Dyers using an exquisite, sensational and dramatic photo of Bette which was photographed by award winner Greg Gorman, enhancing Bette’s photo is zesty “Pop Art” title treatment designed by equally awarded Michael Dorett.

The Hand Signed Limited Edition Giclees were printed on Somerset 330 GSN 100% Archival Cotton Paper and ink, with Iris and Ixia printers, by Valley of the Moon Fine Art Publishers, located in Ojai, California. Jim Costello and Rod Dyer have had an extensive and highly successful history collaborating together in the Fine Art World.

Rod drew on his over 20 year friendship and working relationship with Bette Midler while creating the collage and working on the print campaign, never intending the collage to be anything but a gift for Bette. Yet, after Bette saw the stunning piece, the collage was selected by Bette to be reproduced in a Exclusive Hand Signed Limited Edition Giclee and sold at her Caesars Palace store.

Rod is the man behind hundreds of award winning movie posters, record albums, corporate & restaurant logo designs, clothing, collectable pens and jewelry. Rod holds court at his ever-popular entertainment industry hangout, Pane e Vino Trattoria, www.panevinola.com, in Los Angeles every day while still maintaining his high end full time design business.
