Cher has cancelled her last two 2008 performances at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace scheduled for October 4-5 as well as a show from the previous weekend due to illness. Cher has been suffering from an upper respiratory ailment that has been referred to as “asthma-related bronchitis.”
Cher reportedly had been bothered by the desert dryness which caused her further throat problems while fighting the asthmatic related bronchitis and had not fully recovered from the previous weekend. She cancelled the October 4 performance a few hours before show time. Neither concert will be rescheduled, but Cher will return to the venue early next year for another prolonged residency.
Ticket holders for the cancelled performances have the following options for exchange or refund: They may exchange tickets for a future performance of Cher at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace (subject to availability). To exchange for a future performance, ticket holders must turn in the actual ticket at the Colosseum box office or call Ticketmaster. Refunds are also available at the point of purchase.
Ticket holders will not need to redeem tickets for a refund unless purchased with cash at the Colosseum box office. Cash transactions will only be refunded with the redemption of the original ticket. All credit card orders will automatically be refunded to the credit card used for purchase.
Cher began headlining the 4,100-seat Colosseum in Caesars Palace in May for approximately 200 shows over three years. The 90-minute show was to be presented four nights a week. Bette Midler and Elton John also engaged in residencies at the venue this year.
Wow, that really stinks for all of those people that planned a Vegas trip specifially for Cher! I know if Bette had cancelled after we booked our Vegas trip to see her, I would not have been a happy camper. I hope no one on this site got screwed (well, b/c of this cancellation, anyways) 😉
Yes, it’s a shame, but it happens. I feel sorry for the peeps that had tix, but Cher can’t be feeling to well being sick and then the guilt of disappointing fans. But it happens
I wish her the best. And yay our girl is back on top!
Didn`t she get Celine`s system? LOL! See, that`s what happens if you don`t drink the right beer…:-P
Well, Cher, it would seem would have the same access since they share the same stage and dressing room. But Bette asked for doctors and all types of other questions. Plus it seems Cher has a problem anyway with asthma that the article pointed out. I’m just thinking I read that somewhere…..
Love, D
aww that’s really bad. I hope Bette doesn;t come down with anything lol, I’m comin all the way from England to see her on the 18th of OCT. But if she does, she does, not much i can do 🙁
Nothing will happen to her…SHE IS DIVINE! 😛
