”¢ December 4, 2008 Midler Offers Holiday Variant Not resting on the laurels of having the top-selling show on the Strip, Bette Midler is performing a holiday-season version of The Showgirl Must Go On through Dec. 10. She’s adding two songs from her “Cool Yule” album (none of which have been performed by Midler in concert until now), including the title track, and doing a seasonal variant of “From a Distance.” “These special shows also feature updated choreography, costumes and video elements topped off by a visit from jolly old St. Nick,” says the official press release. Tickets are $95, $140, $175 and $250.
Yay OMG I can’t wait ’til tomorrow!
Actually the Holiday show started earlier than Dec 4. I was there Dec 2. Bette sang Cool Yule and White Christmas. Bette came down from the stage during White Christmas between sections 4 and 5 and shook peoples’ hands!! How exciting if you were lucky enough to be sitting on the aisle seats in those sections!! Unfortunately, I was not…I was in an aisle seat between sections 4 and 3! The Caesar Salad Girls and Santa came dancing up the aisles between sections 4 and 5 and 4 and 3. (I can’t remember now at want point in the show though…maybe during Cool Yule? Can anybody help me remember??) Bette was wearing a green dress with a Christmasy garland draped over her neck while singing From A Distance. The show was spectacular!!! A definite must-see for the holiday season!!
Thanks for clearing that up Kathy. Wish I could have been there….
Love, Don
Hi:
If anyone has seen the Christmas Show and also has seen the show previously, can you tell us how the show was different? Did the added songs replace something? Where were the songs placed in the show?
I so want to go, but can’t. Saw the show in Oct and have to wait to go back.
Thanks.
Hey Ron,
I did see Bette’s show in February, but I can’t remember what all she sang then (I didn’t write it down!). This time I did have a pen and paper(well a 10 cent cashout voucher for the Wynn that I wrote all over!) and wrote down each song she sang as she sang it! Cool Yule was sung 2nd after In The Mood and before The Rose. White Christmas was the last song Bette sang for the evening. She sang From a Distance 5th and before the Delores Delago bit. Hope that helps!
Thank you Kathy
