WHAT:
Celebration surrounding the opening of the new National Museum of American Jewish History (NMAJH), the nation’s only museum dedicated solely to telling the story of Jews in America, and press conference with leaders, architect and designer.

WHO:
Special guests Jerry Seinfeld and Bette Midler to perform at Opening Gala, Nov. 13; Vice President Joe Biden to lead Grand Opening ceremony, Nov. 14

WHERE:
101 South Independence Mall East (5th and Market streets), Philadelphia

MUSEUM BACKGROUND:
The $150 million, 100,000-square-foot museum explores the universal themes of freedom, civil rights and assimilation told through the life experiences, struggles and triumphs of American Jews. The 25,000 square feet of gallery space features cutting-edge interactive technology, compelling artifacts and immersive environments, and will explore the choices and challenges faced by Jews since their arrival on this continent in 1654.

Wed., Nov. 10 – Press Conference 1 p.m. (Museum tours at noon & following press conference)

CREDENTIALING

To receive credentials and register to attend, qualified journalists must email Ilana Blumenthal at iblumenthal@nmajh.org by Fri., Nov. 5, with name, outlet and event(s) they want to attend. Reporters will receive a confirmation email with further details.

Reporters may view the Nov. 13 performances from the NMAJH auditorium via live feed, and will be escorted in small groups to capture live portions of the shows. Please let us know if you want to tap into a mult box.
