  1. I’m a bit confused as to how The Showgirl Must Go On only received one nomination to Lady Gaga’s five? I’ve seen both, and thought TSMGO was technically a better show than Monster Ball. Nothing against Lady Gaga, who’s show was also quite entertaining, but where the Lady seemed a bit raw and unpolished, Bette’s show was tight, colorful, and certainly more entertaining–especially from a variety perspective. Bette simply has the versatility that Lady Gaga lacks.

The concern is that Bette might actally lose out to Lady Gaga (I certainly hope not!), as Lady Gaga is quite the rage right now, and when it comes to awards, typically the performance/show/movie/actor that receives the most nominations has the winning edge.

Let’s hope the Emmy voters have the good sense to give Bette her singly nominated “win”, and let Lady Gaga reap the rewards from her other nominations!

After all, we can’t fault them for going gaga over the Lady, but you simply can’t beat being Divine!
