Is Lady Gaga Now Copying Stevie Nicks?

Everyone knows about Lady Gaga’s obsession with Madonna, and her blatant rip-off of Bette Midler‘s mermaid alter-ego is well-documented.
Nevertheless, the 25-year-old pop impresario was snapped on the streets of New York City this weekend channeling the style of yet another songstress of yesteryear. One website, idontlikeyouinthatway.com, is implying the singer born Stefani Germanotta is now inspired by Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks.
“It seemed hauntingly familiar. Just like the one-winged dove you should stab it in the brain while she’s singing I said ‘Oooh, baby, ooo’ said ‘Oooh,'” the website stated.
She appeared on the streets donning a see-through black lace shawl and veil, with her bra and panties exposed underneath. Yes, it’s a little trashier than the diaphanous Gothic Gypsy get-ups Nicks is known for wearing, but the likeness is unmistakable. To complete the ensemble, the singer born Stefani Germanotta only needs to trade her signature heels for some Victorian lace-up boots.
Remember, Midler used Twitter–the medium of choice for attacking other celebrities–to voice her displeasure at having her mermaid act stolen by Lady Gaga.
“”¨”¨I’m not sure @ladygaga knows that I’ve performed my mermaid in a wheelchair for millions of people — and many of them are still alive,” Midler tweeted back in July.
In addition, just last week Madonna blasted Lady Gaga for her “obsessions related to me.” So who’s next for Gaga to ape? How about Cher? Or while she’s at it, maybe she can copy Sonny Bono?
