Radio National
Sir Michael Parkinson, interviewer and journalist
Dec. 9th, 2012
Over the course of a four decade career in television, Sir Michael Parkinson interviewed thousands of people. There were stars and many lesser-known but fascinating souls. Some of his favourites, says Sir Michael, would never now be considered good or famous enough for TV chat shows, and that we’re poorer for it.
Sir Michael Parkinson reflects back on his interviews with a young Bette Midler, Dr Jacob Bronowski, and the seventh Earl of Carnarvon, who had a curious childhood.
