Bette Midler will make a rare personal appearance in Chicago on Oct. 28-30 to herald her movie, “The Rose.” That means she’ll miss her live-in friend, Peter Riegert (“Animal House“). He’ll be there next Monday to promote his film, “Head Over Heels,” which describes his affection for Bette.
