LOS ANGELES (AP) – Actress and singer Bette Midler and hr newborn daughter are doing fine and should soon be leaving the hospital, the star’s spokesman said.
“The Divine Miss M” named the girl Sophie, publicist Mark Stem said this week from his New York office. T h e name is Sophie von Haselberg – sounds like royalty, doesn’t it?”
Miss Midler married M artin von Haselberg, a performance artist and commodities trader, in December 1984. The baby is the couple’s first.
Bette Midler Miss Midler, 40, delivered the 8-pound 11-ounce girl a week ago at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
