This Is From Don: Things Are Not Going Well For Me Physically At Least For A Year, And I Am Asking Not For Your Pity, But Kindly For Your Patience.

This Is From Don:

Hi everybody! I just feel I owe it to you to be open and honest with what is happening to me, because it’s effecting my website.

I used to keep this site updated daily for about 14 years. I may have dropped out for a day or two but that was it, Now, you see I go missing sporadically for different lengths of time.

I’ve never been one to think about my health that much. Mostly I just had bad allergies and migraines. But starting last year, things just abruptly changed. I just always felt unwell, but I couldn’t figure out why.

Some things I found out: my body stopped producing testosterone and no, I didn’t turn into a woman. LOL I have to give myself injections twice a week, but I will never be back or close to regular.

I was ill a long time, It turned out I had a diseased gall bladder.

For the longest time, I had vertigo, couldn’t walk straight, was dizzy and nauseous. Because of this, I fell out of the shower backwards and busted my head open. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was going on, but I did. They had increased the dosage of one of migraine meds. The lower dosage I guess I could tolerate, but when they increased it, I had all the side effects. I had to wean off. Then I was okay.

I begged and begged for the new injectable migraine preventatives cause they were made specifically for migraines. I was averaging 15 a month. so I started taking those about 4 months ago, All you did was inject yourself one time a month, and let me tell you my migraines went from 15 a month to 3. I was in heaven,

But I started getting a cough and a wheeze. It started about 3 weeks into taking the new med, so I thought nothing of it. I thought, wow, I must be getting a virus like normal people do. After 4 weeks it was time for my next migraine injection, so I did it. A few weeks in and my cough was getting worse, the wheeze was about the same. OK.

Next injection: a couple weeks in my chest tightened, I broke out in hives on my forehead and on my chest. It was awful. I had been getting weaker from being sick so much. I looked for remedies to get rid of hives. Used Apple Cider Vinegar and some Hydrocortisone 10.

I would have gone to the doctor but I always felt to ill to drive, But one day when I had some energy I went to the walkin part of my clinic. Oh, I had done research on the new drug I was on and the first thing I found was call doctor or emergency room if you get a cough, wheezing, tightness of chest, hives and/or rashes. I was stunned. I looked at other sites though and none of that was mentioned. All of them listed irritation at point of injection, constipation, and a couple of other things that weren’t serious. I just didn’t understand.

The doctor’s visit was just useless. I couldn’t remember the site where I found it. I saw the NP who looked like she was in her mid-20’s. She said there’s nothing in the literature about what you’re talking about. She thought it was something I ingested, but just, believe me, it’s not, I left with nothing, and was told to take the next injection and see what happened. I gave myself the injection but started taking Benedryl.

Nothing got worse. I did have a little break out on my forehead. I’m still wheezing, coughing, tight chest, I keep getting weaker. My brother is taking me to my allergist tomorrow. Not sure what to do about the doctor.

But I’m real concerned about my site. It’s ancient, and there have been alot of updates on the platform I use, WordPress. I have got to change the template soon which means a new look. And a lot of corrections to formats. It almost feels like I’m just over my head. I looked at some of my pages like Songs and Lyrics and others and the formatting has just been lost, So I have even more work that I thought.

I feel after I see my allergist, things will start to look up. Ive decided not to close the page while I’m working on it. Just know that what you see will not be what the final product may look like. I just ask that you give me a chance to get better and know that I’m doing the best I can, I think in the end it will be a better page. I should have kept up better. But I didn’t. And that’s my fault.

Thank you for listening.

Don, aka, Mister D

PS: I promise with all that has happended last year like the loss of my dad, the end of my 30 year relationship, and the death of my favorite little cat, my outlook is very positive and my mind is as sharp as a tack. Thank you for listening

  1. wishing you well and peace of mind with lots of prayers i love your posts and have been a loving fan of the devine miss m. for many many years she thinks the way i do and calls a spade a spade and wants fairness and peace and love and kindness for all so keep on posting my friend

  2. So sorry to hear you are not well Don. Sounds like you need to come off the meds if you are getting hives. I had a similar breakout from antibiotics. It’s your bodies way of saying no. I hope you feel better soon. Sending prayers your way and of course Bette love! ??

  3. Don, work on your health!! I know how hard it is to figure out what are side effects and what aren’t, I deal with the same issues with my meds. But most importantly questions, questions, questions. Don’t leave an office until you felt heard. And if you’re still not satisfied…2nd & 3rd opinions. Science isn’t perfect, if you feel off, say something. Log what you’re experiencing and show the doctor. If you take your pain seriously so will they. Sending ?? And positive vibes your way. Feel free to email me, we can talk irony of side effects lol

    1. Well, mostly I’m right when I tell these doctors what the problem is, but I think I just got beaten down since this was a rough year. I went to my allergist who knew me for 20 years, I can’t imagine I didn’t think of her first. I told her what I had read but couldn’t find it, but I said similar drugs have it listed on their site. She said I have an idea, I’ll be write back. She came back and said it had a substance in it that we test people for allergic reactions. She said, it’s rare people are, but it would cause everything you told me. And she said you’re about allergic to anything, so she says I believe you, but I never doubted you. She said she was angry at the company not to list this. She gave me a shot of this and a pill for that and I already feel better. She’s calling my GP in the morning to tell him what she found and she wants to tell him a few things about my character and my smarts lol This doctor is very nice, but of course he doesn’t know me well. I lost my doctor of 20 years cause he got some big deal promotion and he suggested this one. My previous doc was gay and it was so nice to be able to talk to him openly and honestly. So I’ll miss that, but things tODAY couldn’t have gone better. Love you Lorine!

  4. Mr. D. (I can’t bring myself to call you Don), Please know you are loved by many, many people and we are all sending you healing thoughts and oodles of love.
Many of us are in our mid-60s and older now and are experiencing shit that has never happened before. The doctors think my hubby has Parkinson’s and I’m freaked out about it while he remains calm. What’s a girl to do?
I will pray for your peace of mind and complete healing. I believe in miracles!
Much love from La La Land,
    Martin

    1. I hear you Martin. I promise you I’m on a good track. I’ll copy/paste an answer I gave to someone, cause I’m so tired right now: “I went to my allergist who knew me for 20 years, I can’t imagine I didn’t think of her first. 6. Don,

Did you use to have a Bette fan club Don & Lynn in the 70’s? Are you that Don? I hope you get well & take good care. One day at a time.

  7. Don, others have said alll I could add, and better, but I only suggest you listen to your body and instincts and to NEVER EVER give up, you will find the person or thing that will make you feel well again.
Put yourself and your well being first, above all else, and know we are all here rooting and waiting for you to give us some good news on how you’re doing.
Your hard work is so appreciated, but, take care of yourself and all else will fall into place. Fell better FAST!

    1. Albert, thank you so much. I went to me allergist today and I have been right about what was wrong with me for several results. This is tacky, but it’s cut and paste lol: I went to my allergist who knew me for 20 years, I can’t imagine I didn’t think of her first. Sadly incredible what you have been through, and your positive outlook is to be admired. You have given us such a gift with this site, the least we can do is hold you up in prayers and a beautiful light, believe in all the energy & love that is coming your way. It’s very real.
Indeed take care of Don, give the sight a break for a while & get well! We will be here waiting (if OUR health holds up 🙂 and we believe you will be back, because I’m pretty sure the site makes you happy & proud.

    1. It’s the changes I have to make to the website that I’m dreading. I’ll be making them live and it may be a while before I get it to where I want it to be. I just don’t want to close it down. Just asking for patience while I get the site to where I want it. I visited my allergist and we’ve planned some action steps. It was my new med making me so sick.
