The charts rank the most popular personalities and TV shows based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

The top 10 of The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Actors chart, part of its Social Climbers chart portfolio, features multiple actors who posted on social media in the wake of the Aug. 28 death of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.

THR’s Social Climbers charts are rankings of the most popular entities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVP. The chart’s methodology blends engagement to entities’ social media accounts along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Sept. 1.

Dwayne Johnson rules Top Actors for a third week in a row, with his top post of the week referencing Boseman’s death. “This was hard to hear about,” he wrote on Instagram Aug. 29. “Hard to imagine the quiet pain and struggle you went thru all these years, yet still shined your powerful light and talents to inspire the world.” Johnson’s upload received 7.2 million favorites, adding to his overall sum of 12.4 million for the Aug. 26-Sept. 1 tracking week.

However, Johnson’s post was not the most-engaged-with in the tracking week by an actor. The Instagram upload and tweet to Boseman’s official accounts announcing his death take that distinction; the former received 18.7 million favorites, while the latter accumulated 7.7 million likes and 2.3 million retweets. The latter is the most-liked tweet in Twitter’s history.

Following Boseman’s posts, Avengers franchise co-star Chris Hemsworth had the most-engaged-with social post by an actor, an Aug. 28 Instagram upload featuring a photo of the pair. “Gonna miss you mate,” he wrote. “Absolutely heartbreaking.” The post has received 8.1 million favorites and spurred Hemsworth’s return to the Top Actors chart, re-entering at No. 5.

Kevin Hart, who reaches Top Actors’ top three, rising 9-3, also posted about Boseman; his overall 9.1 million Instagram favorites for the week included two uploads featuring pictures he’d taken with the late actor. “Your legacy will live on forever,” he wrote in one.

Mark Ruffalo, who also starred with Boseman in the Avengers franchise, and Viola Davis additionally earned gains on Top Actors attributed largely to comments on Boseman’s passing, at Nos. 7 and 4, respectively.
