Currently, no information has been announced in terms of where one can purchase tickets or what service fans can grab their seats. But one would want to keep an eye on the official Hocus Pocus social media accounts, such as here on X (formerly Twitter):
For 30 years the Sanderson Sisters have been putting a spell on you, see them back on the big screen for a limited time as we celebrate Hocus Pocus’ 30th Anniversary! The black flame candle ignites once again on October 6th
Hocus Pocus is the story of three witches known as the Sanderson Sisters, played by Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker. The three were banished one Halloween night in the 1600s, but are resurrected in the modern-day 1990s by a young boy named Max, played by Omri Katz.
Max teams up with his little sister, Dani (Thora Birch), and Binx (Jason Marsden), a young boy cursed into the body of a black cat, to banish the witches before they can wreak havoc on all of Salem. Meanwhile, the witches are out to feast on children and corrupt the town on Halloween night.
The Resurrection of Hocus Pocus
In 2022, the long-awaited sequel Hocus Pocus 2 made its grand debut on Disney+. The follow-up brings back all three Sanderson sisters as they are accidentally resurrected once again for even more Halloween shenanigans. Disney would later announce that it was the most-viewed film on the streaming service. Despite the success, it was met with mediocre reviews that mostly referred to it as a safe movie for kids, that pandered to the nostalgia of the parents. However, with the sequel being so successful in the long run, a third outing is now reportedly in development..
Celebrate Hocus Pocus In Your Own Way
Even if it’s unlikely to become a major franchise with tons of sequels, fans of the original are still eager to party. Not only will they be able to enjoy the film on the big screen, but fans who happen to be in Salem will get the chance to attend a one-of-a-kind witchy celebration! Organized by D23, The Official Disney Fan Club, there will be an official Black Flame Ball at the historic Hawthorne Hotel, where the Sanderson Sisters “put a spell” on the unsuspecting townsfolk! The event will also include a walking tour of Salem as well as entry to the ball. Tickets for the event went on sale last month and have since sold out!
Whether you’re in Salem, or in your own cozy little hometown, there are plenty of ways to celebrate your favorite Halloween movie. For fans of Hocus Pocus, this is going to be that year for sure, and it looks like the fun isn’t going to be flickering out any time soon.
