This HBO special was edited together from two performances at the MGM Grande. I was in the audience at one of the two shows. I remember my first boyfriend had his VCR programmed to tape the HBO concert for me because I didn”t subscribe to HBO. However we both watched the telecast together at our friend Bobby’s house who was in a local rock band. His entire band, called SPINNING GRIN, was at his house watching it too as well as numerous other friends and SPINNING GRIN fans. It was broadcast very shortly after the two performances occured and shortly after I flew back home to Kansas City from Las Vegas! If I remember right it aired only a week or so after the live performances. It is a beautiful memory for me!
I just read that it was a one night only event. Not to argue but I swear it was a two night event. Like a Friday night/Saturday night thing or perhaps even two shows done in one night. I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time, but I really do remember there being two shows and I bought a ticket to one of the two.
