About the benefit songs…one can call it rationalization, but the deal about the video tapes was…just that….not making copies of a video tape….which I have not done.
The audio clips were not of a malicious intent, either. But the way this whole thing has played out really bothers me and something really smells bad blowing from the north…kind of like the civil war, but in reverse…if the e-mail I recieved had been nicer or other people had just minded their own business then this probably would have just blown over…
Those that have followed any of the antics on the “official board” knows good and well certain people don’t like me…the only reason they come here is to monitor or take what they can…and that is fine. But the self righteousness over morality and ethics is laughable considering how I’ve been treated by a certain few…
I have had offers from 3 different people now to send a tape of the same event gotten from the same sources or third parties thereof….but it’s silly to have them send me tapes of what I already have…
When I get ready to…I will use the clips. If the original source of the tape has chosen to feel victimized and used…then that’s their choice. The bright side is that the video is sealed and vaulted as far as I’m concerned.
However, said person could also choose to feel happy and glad that he/she brought countless joy to many fans who will truly appreciate their efforts…and yes, it’s a choice…
I realize that some of you will be turned off to what I just said. I consider myself eithical but I am human and I make mistakes. I love children, animals, volunteer, worked with the sick and dying…so I don’t consider myself a bad person in the least…Maybe I’ll regret this decision…I don’t know. To those of you who feel differently about me now…then I’m truly sorry. But sometimes I march to the beat of my own drum for better or for worse…I don’t believe in absolutes…things are never just black and white…not even promises…
So if you can’t handle this…you don’t have to come back or share another thing with me. That’s fine, but it would be a shame…because I have alot to share…not just material wise…but just as a person who enjoys Bette amongst many other things…
I’m not saying if and when I will use said songs. They may be grouped together or they may be part of a theme…and don’t ask when they will go up…if they’re there, they’re there….I’ve made my mind up…there’s a comment board…type away and fight amongst yourselves…I’m not responding.
And with that…I hope you all find peace, love, hope, and charity. And please let’s just all friggin bury the hatchet, especially where Bette is concerned. Nobody is the gatekeeper for her except her and whom she chooses to let hold the keys…we should be sharing information about her instead of guarding it….God knows she could use our input and our output to help keep her legacy going, and especially while she’s figuring out her next move…(which I might add that we are all doing a good job of that)…And the Lady doesn’t do bad herself:-)…however the media tends to focus only on the young…but WE know that she is something special (nothing against the young, mind you:-))
