Not only is Bette Midler getting the royal treatment at the $4500-a-night presidential suite at the Park Hyatt, she had a private viewing at the NGV last week to delve into Andy Warhol’s time capsules. The soup-can man had stashed away a ticket stub from her Paris concert in the 1970s and a menu card from supper that night.

Gallery deputy director Tony Ellwood told Diary the Divine One, who was joined on the 90-minute tour by husband Martin von Haselberg, had not known Warhol was at her concert and she was humbled that he had kept the ticket for so long. That’s more than the usual 15 minutes of fame.
