1980’s Manager’s Association Presents Midler With Entertainer Of The Year Award (Video)

I always loved this video. Liberace looked like, well, Liberace, but handsome that night. I had never much thought about his looks, mostly a glittery mess. But the speech he gave about Bette Midler was so beautiful, authentic, and heartfelt that it just broke through that facade he always lugged around.

I also loved this speech by Bette, which had a lot of bites to go with the humor, but I swear this is the speech with two parts to it, but if so, why didn’t I put it up? It was pretty emotional, and she talked about the names people had called her on the way up. (hint: not nice) Anyway, I know I have it somewhere, but I’ve seen it online. Does anybody know the speech I am thinking of?
