The Divine Miss M returns with a new CD that is as eclectic as her own personality.  Bathhouse Betty is a title derived from Bette Midler‘s earlu days , when she started singing in the Continental Baths in New York City.

It covers a variety of styles, ranging from ballads (Song Of Bernadette) to dance (I’m Beautiful), to soft jazz (I’m Hip) and even Hawaiian music (Ukulele Lady). All work pretty well, especially “I’m Beautiful.”

There’s also a contemporary feel , with Ben Fold Five’s “Boxing,” while “My One True Friend” the title track to the movie “One True Thing” has a sweet sound to it.

Grade: B+
