Bette Midler and Lord Olivier have become fast friends ever since he caught two of her performances in Los Angeles.
“What do we call you now, ‘Lord Olivier?'” Bette asked Larry.
“Of course not,” said Larry. “To my friends, I’m just plain old ‘Sir Laurence'”
Not earth-shattering news, but every time you can get Olivier’s name in the column it adds a certain amount of prestige.
