Bette Midler Praises Ariana Grande for Calling Out Grammys
By Wendy Michaels
February 9, 2019

Ariana Grande will not be performing at this year’s Grammys — but not for the reason the show’s producer, Ken Ehrlich, told the media. The pop singer was quick to take to Twitter to shed some light on the reality of the situation and she’s getting plenty of fan support, as well as praise from the legendary Bette Midler.

Grande explains why Grammys producer was ‘lying’

According to Ehrlich, he said they had conversations with Grande about performing at the 2019 Grammys, as he explained to The Associated Press that she ultimately “felt it was too late for her to pull something together.” He added, “And it’s too bad. She’s a great artist.” ...  Read More

Bette Midler Is Pissed at Kanye West

XXL Mag Bette Midler Is Pissed at Kanye West By C. Vernon Coleman II February 15, 2016 3:21 PM Kanye-West-Bette-Midler Though there are debates as to whether Kanye West actually got Taylor Swift’s permission before penning the misogynous line about the pop star on his new album The Life of Pablo, one thing that is not up for debate is how singer/actress Bette Midler feels about the whole situation. On the line in question, West references his infamous interruption of Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Music Awards, rapping on the track “Famous,” “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” Midler, famous for her roles in the films The First Wives Club and The Stepford Wives, and her hit 1988 remake of “Wind Beneath My Wings,” recently took to Twitter to blast the Chicago rap artist for having the gall publish that line. “Kanye called Taylor Swift a bitch but said it’s a term of endearment. Well then, let me be the first to say, congrats on your album, bitch!,” she posted. Well then. The line has been the source of much confusion since it was revealed a few days ago. West says he reached out to Swift to get her permission to run the line. But, according to Swift’s team, they warned West about “releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.” The statement also claims Swift was “never made aware of the lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’” Kanye, however is sticking with his story that the line was given a pass recently taking to Twitter to explain himself. “First thing is I’m an artist as and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship,” he posted. “2nd thing I asked my wife for her blessing and she was cool with it. 3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.” (Kanye shrug) =&0=&

Anna Kendrick Says She Would Die for Bette Midler—Here’s Why…

Earn The Necklace Anna Kendrick Says She Would Die for Bette Midler—Here’s Why… By: Jackie Bonaventura – December 24, 2015 Anna-Kendrick-and-Bette-Midler At age 70, Bette Midler is still going strong. Personally, our favorite memory from her career is her cameo on The Simpsons back in 1993 when she voiced herself. But all these years later, we’re still learning things about her. For instance, she’s apparently a whiz in the kitchen—well, sort of. And her latest recipe has gained her a new superfan: Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick! On Twitter, Bette Midler posted a holiday recipe for eggnog that anyone can do, provided they’re 21 and older. She wrote, “Happy holidays to all: Here is my recipe for dairy-free, sugar-free, vegan eggnog: Bourbon.” Now that’s festive! The post was both liked and retweeted over 10, 000 times; guess a lot of people prefer Midler’s take on traditional eggnog. And one of the people who liked Midler’s tweet was none other than fellow celebrity Anna Kendrick. The starlet made her opinion of the “recipe” clear with only four words: “I’d die for you.” Clearly, someone is planning to spend their holidays in the kitchen! Assuming, you know, that’s where the liquor cabinet is.\ Kendrick’s response received even more likes than the original tweet, at over 15,000. And fans of both stars definitely appreciated the pair’s interaction. “Two of my favourite legends coming together over booze. It’s a Christmas miracle!” wrote one elated fan. A lot of people added that they, in turn, would die for Anna Kendrick; while the dedication is easy to appreciate, let’s hope that none of them follow through on that. After all, it’s not very much in the Christmas spirit! And if you’re not particular about what you put in your “eggnog,” one person suggested that scotch is a good sub if you don’t have bourbon.” We hope Bette Midler, Anna Kendrick, and all of you enjoy your holiday meals and treats, just be sure to drink your eggnog responsibly. Merry Christmas!

24 Times Bette Midler Slayed The Twitter Game In 2015

BuzzFeed 24 Times Bette Midler Slayed The Twitter Game In 2015 “They found water on mars? Big deal. Call me when they find gin.” —Miss M posted on Dec. 7, 2015, at 9:29 p.m. 11280028_464899097011988_463982734_n

1. When she reviewed 50 Shades of Grey:

50 Shades of Grey? Pretty tame. If Christian were a real sadist, he would’ve made her watch while he went through her Google search history!

2. When she got us excited for The Monthly Show with Bette Midler:

Hm. The Daily Show w/Bette Midler has a nice ring to it. Except for the “daily” part. I’d prefer The Monthly (Unless I’m On Vacation) Show.

3. When she compared her workout routine to BDSM:

Getting back in shape for my upcoming tour is killing me! After a workout, I’m like 50 Shades of Grey – in pain, in bed, and unable to move.

4. Or when she let us know how she really likes to exercise:

Working hard to get back in shape for upcoming tour; just bought heavier martini glasses to build upper body strength. It’s worked before!

5. When she totally understood what the holidays are all about:

Happy Passover! Such a great tradition of getting together with friends and family and arguing about current events you sort of understand.

6. When she was as intrigued by a live-action Winnie the Pooh as we all are:

Disney is making a live-action “Winnie the Pooh” movie! I’d love to see that casting call, “Portly, hairy, must be willing to go pantsless.”

7. When she considered entering the 2016 presidential race: ...  Read More
