Dustin’s Tune / Shoot The Breeze
Tid-Bettes: Bette wrote the lyrics to “Shoot The Breeze” based on music that Dustin Hoffman had written in his youth. They both performed the song together on Bette’s television special Ol’ Red Hair Is Back, and Bette also sang the song each night during her Intimate Evening With Bette club tour. Â
Dustin’s Tune
(Bette Midler, Dustin Hoffman)
One day I walked under city skies
I heard a old radio near by
A song so full of long ago
A song they once called Dusty’s tune
They called it Dustin’s tune
Shoot The Breeze
(Bette Midler, Dustin Hoffman)
Well, how ya doing
Gee, you’re looking good
I heard you moved
From the neighborhood
Your Mom came by
She was singing her blues
I’m glad you called, I got nothing to do
Come on let’s shoot the breeze
Do you remember when we were ten
About to start on that great adventure
That’s how they refer to life
The breeze said I’d be someone’s wife
I’d like to shoot the breeze
Fairy tales upon the breeze
All about white knights and dragons
In perhaps a day or two
I’ll be going on the wagon
It’s not my man or the kids, you see
To tell the truth it’s a mystery
Why I’m so damned dissatisfied
The breeze says no one’s home inside me
No one knows what’s here inside me
No one, no one, no one knows
Come on, let’s shoot the breeze
Come on, come on, come on
You and me, friend, we gonna
Sit right down here, we’re gonna
We’re gonna talk it over
How we love to, love to, love to
Shoot the breeze
Where can I get sheet music for piano for Shoot the Breeze?
I don’t really know. I checked online but couldn’t find anything
