Video: Bette Midler – One More Cheer – Stella – 1990

One More Cheer” (the uplifting end-credits anthem from the 1990 film Stella, performed by Bette Midler) was written by Jay Gruska and Paul Gordon.

  • Jay Gruska (composer/producer known for work on TV themes like Beverly Hills, 90210 and other film songs) co-wrote it.
  • Paul Gordon (a songwriter/composer with credits in musical theater and films) was his co-writer.

It was produced by the legendary Arif Mardin (who worked with Bette on several projects). The song even earned a Razzie nomination for Worst Original Song that year—harsh, but hey, not everyone got the soaring, cheer-for-life vibe!
