Mister D: Off to the hospy…see ya in seven wks max….will miss ya’ll….Love, Mister D…PS: Bette won’t be at the Emmy’s!
We are doing a special project again this fall, but not specifically for Bette’s birthday. We’re really excited about it – it’s taking what we did last year one step further. As you remember, last year it was all about surprising Bette by bringing the beauty of our gardens out into the surrounding streets.
And as thrilled as Bette was with the results, she was even more thrilled when she found out that it sparked a much greater chain reaction: when community members saw what we were doing in and around our gardens, they were so excited that they started asking our crew for help with other spaces where they saw potential.

Rush joins ‘Us’ family
Pic also stars Marisa Tomei and Bailee Madison
By JUSTIN KROLL
Joshua Rush has joined the cast of Fox and Walden Media co-production “Us and Them” starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler. Pic also stars Marisa Tomei and Bailee Madison with Andy Fickman directing.
“Us and Them” stars Crystal and Midler as grandparents who struggle to cope with their grandkids’ modern ways. Rush will play one of the grandkids.
Crystal, Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark will produce through Chernin Entertainment. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel penned the current draft, with Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse writing the first.
Well ain’t this typical! I announce something and then it backfires on me. Due to a bad intake the night before, when I got to the hospital Thursday morn I was told they couldn’t admit me. Now it’s been moved to Sunday morning…which just makes it more nerve-wracking for me.
The bad news is that I will be gone for 7 weeks and as far as I know it’s computer-less. So I’m very disappointed, shocked, and sorry. I didn’t know I’d be gone that long. So do what you have to do. I’ll put up the birthday information and someone or anyone can be a cheerleader for it! So thanks in advance to anyone who picks that challenge up.
