BLB In Conjunction With NYRP Presents “Happy Birthday Bette – “Bette’s Gardens for the City”

Thanks for the Art Work Charles Little!

From NYRP:

We are doing a special project again this fall, but not specifically for Bette’s birthday. We’re really excited about it – it’s taking what we did last year one step further. As you remember, last year it was all about surprising Bette by bringing the beauty of our gardens out into the surrounding streets.

And as thrilled as Bette was with the results, she was even more thrilled when she found out that it sparked a much greater chain reaction: when community members saw what we were doing in and around our gardens, they were so excited that they started asking our crew for help with other spaces where they saw potential. There are great films that women adore and men tend to ignore. Here are five of Hollywood’s best “chick flicks.”

Attn: New Yorkers – Matthew Parker @ The Bitter End – Wed., September 28

From Matthew: The Bitter End is a legendary music venue in the west village, NYC. What’s so cool about this place is everyone legendary started here including The Divine Miss M. Her name is on the wall and listed with the MANY performers like Neil Diamond, Janis Joplin, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Linda Ronstadt, & Lady Gaga outside the venue. It would be cool for any local Betteheads to come support & I will be doing an EARLY Bette cover.

Good News, Bad News: Red Tape Keeps Mister D Home Til Sunday Morn

Well ain’t this typical! I announce something and then it backfires on me. Due to a bad intake the night before, when I got to the hospital Thursday morn I was told they couldn’t admit me. Now it’s been moved to Sunday morning…which just makes it more nerve-wracking for me.

The bad news is that I will be gone for 7 weeks and as far as I know it’s computer-less. So I’m very disappointed, shocked, and sorry. I didn’t know I’d be gone that long. So do what you have to do. I’ll put up the birthday information and someone or anyone can be a cheerleader for it! So thanks in advance to anyone who picks that challenge up. Read More
