Mister D: Sorry, for better or worse, Bette was humping the stage long before Madonna. Â When I first saw Madonna pull her “Like A Virgin” rolling on the floor, humping the stage stunt, my first thoughts were….Bette Midler! She set the bar for stage performances!

If Yippies founder Jerry Rubin was right about not trusting anyone over 30, then MTV is in a heap of trouble. Staying connected to youth is the network’s mission, so MTV may want to forget that it was sparked to life 30 years ago with the words, “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll.†Television hasn’t been the same since.

Dame Helen Mirren was warned last night she would face ‘serious consequences’ unless she drops out of a biopic claiming Beatles producer Phil Spector was wrongly jailed for murder.
The film, which began shooting this month in Manhattan, has infuriated friends of Spector’s victim, blonde B-movie actress Lana Clarkson.
David Foster To Be Named Head Of Jazz Label
He is expected to put Verve’s focus on adult contemporary pop.

David Foster is set to take the top spot at esteemed jazz label Verve, THR has learned. The producer-composer-songwriter has worked with Josh Groban, Michael Buble and Andrea Bocelli and has won 15 Grammys.
Foster’s arrival at Verve Music Group, which includes imprints GRP and Impulse (home to John Coltrane‘s catalog), is part of Universal Music Group chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge‘s plan to reinvest in UMG’s creative resources. Under Foster, Verve is expected to shift its focus to adult contemporary pop, or “what David does best, from Groban on down,” says a source. The label’s roster includes Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall and Ledisi. It also has released albums by Queen Latifah, American Idol alum Katharine McPhee and Treme regular Trombone Shorty.
Mister D: Actually she reads very flippant about her copying in this article, but to be fair I didn’t see the show so I don’t know how she said it….
