BETTE MIDLER and NBC Productions have the new book by JAMIE PASTOR BOLDNICK titled “Winnie – My Life in the Institution.” The unusual story will become a TV movie in 1987 starring Midler, reports New York columnist LIZ SMITH.

“Winnie” is the story of GWYNNA SPROCKET!, who was committed to a state home at age 6. To prove she was intelligent and not feeble-minded, Sprockett began writing her own book.
