Another Bettehead did a little research and found out the Miami date is October 30th…BUT we don’t know what venue it is yet. She also sent a copy PDF File of the ad which I hope to have scanned by tomorrow…(mother’s in town…so ya know how that goes…:-))
Mister D: Thanks to Albert again!
Here is the advertising verbatim as it appeared in a quarter page ad on page #26 (July 30th, 2004) of today’s “Weekend” section pullout of the Miami Herald…you can’t find print ads on the net:
Kiss My Brass! Tour
Tickets On Sale Monday,
August 16! “
It has a great pic of Bette with her hand in the air from about her waist up with
her little sailor hat and suit on and microphone in hand.
I doubt it’s for last year’s concert, that never was advertised that early (some people mistakenly wrote in thinking this…but they don’t get the Miami Herald.)
According to a Miami resident…in the Miami Herald today there is an ad
“basically showing a pic of Bette in her opening sailor costume stating “Bette Midler- Kiss My Brass Tour: Tickets go on sale August 16th.”
According to Albert, there isn’t a date listing when the concert will take place or the venue. This is probably to get the buzz started that Bette’s Back.
Thank you Albert for the heads up!!!!
Love, Mister D

Demonstrating a shared commitment to community service with lasting local impact, the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), Disney VoluntEARS and residents of District 8 today kicked off the revitalization of a long-neglected community garden and neighborhood park in New York City’s East Harlem.
The 15,000-square-foot site – for years home to abandoned cars, graffiti and unusable equipment – is being developed as a neighborhood centerpiece for East Harlem children and their families. The design features an extensive garden and arbor; a children’s playground and water play area; a multi-purpose court for basketball and other sports; an eating area with picnic tables; and open green space with benches.

28 JULY 2004
Stepford Wives star and New York resident Bette Midler has been hard at work perfecting life in her own back yard, helping build a garden in an abandoned lot in East Harlem.
Bette, who founded the nonprofit New York Restoration Project in 1994, is joining forces with Disney and dozens of volunteers to transform the rundown 18,000 sq ft eyesore into a neighbourhood green space and playground.
In the decade since Bette founded the Restoration Project, she’s cultivated 15 gardens around the Big Apple – including one, in 2002, with the help of Ground Force gardeners Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock – and is in the process of restoring many more.

BRUCE VILANCH is getting rave re views for his role in the road show of “Hairspray,” as the mountainous Edna Turnblad. The show opened in L.A. last week to a screamingly enthusiastic audience. Vilanch was raucous and tender, and Hollywood bigwigs who attended loved Bruce’s impromptu political puns concerning Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Whoopi Goldberg and Linda Rondstadt. Tony-winner Marissa Jaret Winokur reprised the role that made her a Broadway baby.
