Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey in a scene from the 1988 movie “Beaches.”
There are great films that women adore and men tend to ignore. Here are five of Hollywood’s best “chick flicks.”
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961) ”“ The classic romance with Audrey Hepburn as the naive Holly Golightly.
“The Color Purple” (1985) ”“ Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize winner starring Whoopi Goldberg, OprahWinfrey and Margaret Avery.
“Beaches” (1988) ”“ Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey as unlikely best friends forever.
“Sense and Sensibility” (1995) ”“ Jane Austen’s classic tale with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet.
“Thelma & Louise” (1991) ”“ Awaitress and a housewife on the run after shooting a rapist. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon star.
Agree with this list but Fried Green Tomatoes should be on here. That movie always gets the shaft and it makes me cry everytime
Good one!
