“GET ME DOUG JONES” WELCOMES HOLLYWOOD ICON BETTE MIDLER!. For more than three decades, Doug Jones has brought some of the most memorable characters in film and television to life through his extraordinary physical performances and remarkable talent. From Billy Butcherson in Hocus Pocus to Saru in Star Trek: Discovery and the Amphibian Man in The Shape of Water, Jones has become one of the most respected and beloved performers in Hollywood. Now, fans will soon get an intimate look at his incredible career and the impact he has had on the entertainment industry through the upcoming documentary GET ME DOUG JONES.
Coolwaters Productions, LLC & Hellcat Productions, LLC have announced that the legendary Bette Midler has been interviewed for the upcoming feature-length documentary film GET ME DOUG JONES.
“Working with Doug on Hocus Pocus was like working with a master.” Ms. Midler says. “He embodies every character that he plays with complete commitment.” Bette Midler and Doug Jones first appeared on screen together in the 1993 film HOCUS POCUS and reunited in 2022 for HOCUS POCUS 2.
With her addition, Bette Midler joins the ever-growing chorus of voices praising Doug Jones’ work and career through interviews for the documentary. These figures include Sonequa Martin-Green (STAR TREK: DISCOVERY), Harvey Guillen (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS), Ron Perlman (HELLBOY & HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY), and Noah Wyle (FALLING SKIES), among many others.
The upcoming Kickstarter finishing funds campaign, launching May 18, 2026 at 12:00pm PST, will offer one of a kind memorabilia from the personal archive of Doug Jones, incredible bespoke experiences with Doug himself and campaign exclusive merchandise. The campaign will celebrate its launch on May 19, 2026 at the SCUM & VILLAINY CANTINA in Hollywood with a special “Doug Jones Trivia Night” including an appearance from Doug Jones as well.
