Where to Stream The Glorias With Bette Midler

Another legend, lost: Feminist activist, icon, and author Gloria Steinem has died, at the age of 92.
It’s impossible to overstate Steinem’s legacy as a lead of the second-wave feminist movement in the 1970s.
If you’re seeking an entertaining overview of Steinem’s life’s work, you might consider The Glorias. It is a Gloria Steinem biopic starring Julianne Moore. Additionally, Oscar-winning actors portray her life.
COVID-19 forced a digital release in the fall of 2020, and the film mostly flew under the radar.
Julia Taymor directs The Glorias, renowned for experimental Broadway adaptations like The Lion King and films such as Frida.
Additionally, she co-wrote the script with Sarah Ruhl, and the film adapts Steinem’s 2015 memoir, My Life on the Road.
There’s Steinem as a little girl on the road with her family, played by Ryan Kira Armstrong; Steinem as a college graduate traveling alone in India, played by Alicia Vikander; and Steinem as the famed political activist most know her as; played by Moore. Along the way, you’ll meet many of the other feminist activists who worked with Steinem over the years, including Bella Abzug (played by Bette Midler), Dorothy Pitman Hughes (played by Janelle Monae), and Florynce Kennedy (played by Lorraine Toussaint).
The film first premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and received mixed reviews, but it’s undoubtedly a fitting and educational tribute to one of America’s most important historical figures.
