“One True Friend”

  1. Hi everybody,
on Amazon they write Bette sang “One true Friend” on Johnny Carson´s last Show. So I guess it is not the Song “My one true Friend” on the Album, but “One for my Baby”. Am I right ? 🙂

  2. I actually like the track list (although I would have preferred more of her rock tracks). I’m torn though… I want to support her but I have all of these songs already. I guess I could buy this album for someone who doesn’t have Bette’s greatest hits.

  3. Yeah, I understand. I would have picked more rock tunes. Christmas is coming around the corner so buy at least for gifts.

Let’s face it…we need a huge box set where the fans pick the unreleased songs and such….

  4. Don’t know if anyone knows yet. iTunes has made a “iTunes Essentials” for Bette Midler, It’s a compilation of 70 bestselling Bette songs on iTunes divided into The Basics, Next Steps, and Deep Cuts. And no I don’t work for them..(=

  5. I was a little disappointed with the track list. “Baby Mine” and “WAMLAW”, a great in concert song, but “The Rose” track, not a fav, as examples. I would prefer “Midnight in Memphis”. M.I.A. and shouldn’t be, “I Think It’s Going To Rain Today”, “Shiver Me Timbers” “Too Comfort You” & “Lullaby In Blue”. Not to mention “Martha” from Saturday Night Live.

I thought “Something Your Heart….” was from the 2000 “Bette” sessions, but I read it was from 1984? Surprising.

Yes, we need (and deserve) a Bette Box Set. Give her fans the rare and forgotten Tracks.

  6. okay, some of these tracks are good, some not so good,
Are these just old versions of these songs?,
Because of they then she should have recorded them again and given us fans something to look forward to,
Also it would be interesting to listen to how her voice has changed, and see if she changes the words around on any of them,(like in showgirl)
I think more people would buy it then, coz at the moment nearly all of her fans have got these songs on other albums or on their computer.
I do love her but this album (Except 1 song) is kinda pintless,
    Please dont hate me.

  7. Omfg! I love in the mood and something your heart has been telling me… AMAZING!!!!!!!!! But fudge, let’s face it. If their gonna put WAMLAW, The Rose, Hello In There, and Wind Beneathe My Wings on there, they should be live! Am i right??? I mean come on? Their so greate when their live and it’s just so powerful and moving, and it makes me cry for crying out loud! So ya. We doo need a Bette Box….that would be so amazing and a greate chance to gain some new Bette favorites…..

Could anyone else have seen Bette playing Donna in Mamma Mia? I could have, and she would have done soooo well, and it would have been amazing, but Meryl wuz made for it! But Bette should have been one of the friends! Lol

  8. Bette is so overdue for a live CD it’s almost a crime…

In this new age of musicals, there’s got to be a way to get Bette a great part…..what’s wrong with Hollywood?
