Since their second Live recording “Let The Healing Begin” I was waiting for a studio album with original material by Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns. This band is a reunion of amazing musicians and singers playing a music that reach in the best of Soul, Funk, “Westcoast” and jazz. Their new album “When The Curtain Goes Up” is now available and is just a pearl of great music. The band has is own sound signature but you’ll probably hear some great inspirations as Tower of Power “I’ll Pack it Up”, Jay Graydon “Into the light”, Bill Champlin “My Land of the Sun”, “Love Jungle”, Chicago “This Time”… and of course Michael Ruff on their cover of Ruff’s “Wishing Well”.
For 30 years Santa Fe has been one of Las Vegas’ Crown Jewels, never giving less than 100% to their audiences.”¨This band has been a “farm club” for many big acts, shows, and bands, and many incredible musicians have honored it’s ranks. The latest incarnation of this band features Tony Davich, Gabriel Falcon, Danny Falcone, Jamie Hosner, Jose “Pepe” Jimenez, Tyriq Johnson, Gil Kaupp, Lenny Lopez, Bob Mader, Jerry Merra, Dave Richardson, Nathan Tanouye, Rochon Westmorel, Phil Wigfall and founder and leader Jerry Lopez.
Jerry released a well aclaimed solo cd “Negrita” and appears on Bill Champlin’s new album “No Place Left To Fall” singing the duet “Stone Cold Holliwood”.
The band has never had publicity or marketing of any kind, and continues to fill the rooms it plays in by word of mouth alone. Most of the audiences are made up of talented musicians and entertainers from all walks of life, and Jerry has been known to remarked more than once that “half the audience could do this gig”, and if you look at the people that make up this band’s audience, you know he means it. Great Music is medicine for the heart, soul and mind,.. and Santa Fe & T.F.C.H. brings it!
“When the Curtain Goes Up” is Santa Fe third album and is now available!
