Sources inside the Bette camp have informed me they know nothing about the sequel. Therefore one could rightly deduct that Ms. Midler has not been approached to be in it.
Also, they killed off all 3 witches in the original, but movie magic has brought many a villain back in absurd fashions – I can only presume at this point though that she Ms. Midler will not be in it….and a cameo would be an insult (unless it’s a musical number).
With the rushed production, the “new tale,” and the little information I was able to get, the outlook is bleak for a true Sanderson’s reunion.
However, on a brighter note, if Ms. Midler were in negotiations, I wouldn’t be told anything. Here’s hoping!
