They’re actually fairly well-respected theater reviewers (amongst other things) here in NYC. I thought they presented their opinions in a rather straightforward way, and none of it came across to me as bitchy, vile, shallow, or vapid. If anything, they were saying that the subject matter of the show was a little too vapid and shallow for them, which is something that plenty of other reviewers have mentioned as well. I think it’s kind of sad that we automatically revert to stereotypes, and call them bitchy queens and vapid clowns simply based on the way the way they look and talk and the fact that we disagree with them.
