I love that you have a cover of (Peaches & Herb’s 1978 duet) “Reunited” with Melanie Taylor as a bonus track from the album. It made me laugh because Melanie is a former Harlette with Bette Midler, with whom you have history going back to the ‘70s. Kind of full circle?
Melanie is such a wonderful singer. It was two takes and she was done. My dream partner, of course, would have been Bette. But she didn’t want to do it. You can’t convince Bette Midler of anything. She just said, she doesn’t like singing anymore. You’ve got to convince her and I’m not that kind of guy that would do that. But Melanie was right in front of me and she sounded so great.
