Bette Midler: A Rose Named After A Rose

The New York Botanical Garden has named a flower “The Divine Miss M” in honor of Bette Midler.

It’s been planted in the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Midler’s breakout film, 1979’s “The Rose.”

The flower’s described as “totally decadent” and a “huge dollop of whipped cream with overtones of antique white with a slight golden hue and fragrance of myrrh and lime.”

It’ll be unveiled in full bloom at the New York Restoration Project’s spring picnic.
