Bette Midler was in her element as she stepped out in a gorgeous pale blue ensemble at the beautiful New York Botanical Garden for a special event on Wednesday.

The Golden Globe winner exuded beauty and grace in a pair of light blue pants and a matching camisole top for the New York Restoration Project Spring Picnic.

Sporting a huge smile on her face, the 73-year-old held her hands up to her heart as she posed for photos in front of the ‘Divine Miss M’ rose, which was named in honour of the musical sensation.

The flower, named after her debut studio album which was released in 1972, was officially introduced by its showbiz namesake this week, having been planted back in March.

Bette matched her casual, yet stunning outfit with a beautiful red and blue patterned kimono which complemented her dark red lipstick. Meanwhile, the singer added a further pop of colour with a swipe of blush on her cheeks.

The New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is a non-profit organization founded by Bette herself, with an aim to provide beautiful spaces for all New Yorkers to enjoy across the city.

“Since our founding in 1995 by Bette Midler, NYRP has planted trees, renovated gardens, restored parks, and transformed open space for communities throughout New York City’s five boroughs,” the organisation’s website reads.

“As New York’s only citywide conservancy, we bring private resources to spaces that lack adequate municipal support, fortifying the city’s aging infrastructure and creating a healthier environment for those who live in the most densely populated and least green neighborhoods.”

After the event, Bette took to social media to share a snap of herself enjoying the stunning space and her very own rose.

“The best bloom in a garden of beautiful blooms,” one person commented on the snap. Another wrote: “The Divine Miss M! You are an inspiration!”

While a third said: “She looks like mother of the flowers once she steps in the garden and the flowers start blooming.”
