Mister D: This article still talked about Sissy Spacek, but she is not returning and her part is now being played by Sheryl Lee Ralph. Also, the wedding was originally going to be filmed in Australia but now has been changed to Florida. The movie was having funding problems which is probably why Australia was nixed.

Susan Sarandon and Bette Midler were spotted jumping back into character with fellow castmate Megan Mullally as filming resumed on the movie The Fabulous Four in Savannah on Wednesday.

The Oscar winner, 77, and Hocus Pocus star, who is also 77, happily reunited with the Will & Grace alum, 64, on the set of the upcoming comedy following the end of the WGA strike late last month.

Carrie actress Sissy Spacek, 73, was also cast in a leading role in the project but was not spotted on set in Georgia.

The Thelma & Louise actress was seen stepping outdoors wearing a pair of gray trousers as well as a red and white-striped blouse that was tucked into the waist of the pants.

Her locks were parted to the side and flowed down to brush her shoulders in bouncy curls

A dainty necklace was added to accessorize the casual ensemble, and the star was also seen wearing a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a rosy pink lipstick ahead of filming a scene.

Bette was seen arriving at the production while opting for comfort in a cream-colored robe that was secured with a belt wrapped around her waist.

She easily carried a small bag and a stack of paper in her hand as she stepped out of a parked vehicle.

Her short, blonde locks were parted in the middle, and some strands were pushed back with a colorful hair clip.

Megan put on a dazzling display wearing an eye-catching, fuchsia pink dress that contained sequin details as well as tulle embellishments on the arm cuffs.

The neckline of the ensemble also had a similar tulle border and contained a hem that fell down past her knees.

The Will & Grace alum sported a pair of stylish glasses and was seen looking through her smartphone as she enjoyed a bit of fresh air while on set.

Her dark locks were parted in the middle, and cascaded down in light waves past her shoulders, with some pieces dyed a pink color.

The Fabulous Four is an upcoming comedy that kicked off filming earlier this year, but due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, production was halted. However, late last month, the Writers Guild of America struck a deal with the AMPTP.

While SAG-AFTRA is still on strike, the union granted some waivers to independent productions, television shows, and other larger projects to continue filming, per The Los Angeles Times.

Bleecker Street – an independent entertainment company – notably obtained the rights to The Fabulous Four, Variety previously reported.

The premise follows three longtime friends – portrayed by Sarandon, Mullally, and Spacek – who whisk themselves away to Florida as bridesmaids for a surprise wedding for their other close pal, played by Midler.

‘Once there, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past rises up again in all its glory, and there are enough sparks, drinks, and romance to change all their lives in ways they never expected,’ the synopsis further read, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Jocelyn Moorhouse – who notably directed projects such as The Dressmaker (2015) – also took on the role of director for The Fabulous Four.

With the movie still in its production stages, a set theatrical release date has yet to be announced.

Susan – who was arrested at the New York State Capital earlier this year following a protest – is known for starring in films such as Thelma & Louise (1991) and playing Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975).

She has been nominated for an Oscar five times throughout the course of her career thus far, winning Best Actress in a Leading Role for Dead Man Walking in 1995

Two-time Emmy winner Megan Mullally had a main role in Will & Grace, and also appeared in other projects such as Parks And Recreation as well as the dark comedy series, Children’s Hospital; seen in 2020 in Beverly Hills

Midler has also been prominent in the industry for decades and is known for her role in the Hocus Pocus franchise and other projects, such as Beaches (1988).

The Rose singer also starred in a musical drama of the same name in 1979 – which earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress. She performed on Broadway in Hello, Dolly! in 2017 – also earning her a Tony Award.
