“In this animated collage, inspired by Andrea Potos’s “For the Robin on My Porch” and Bette Midler’s introspective narration, I explore the transient nature of life symbolized by clouds, emphasizing change and impermanence. The porch serves as a metaphorical stage, and the nest, crafted from decorative paper scraps, embodies the cyclical dance of creation and decay. By incorporating a tangible ribbon, echoing Andrea’s daughter’s “Pale Blue Ribbon,” I invite viewers to reflect on the weight of symbols and memories, celebrating the profound beauty found in life’s fleeting moments.” ( -Rick Midler)

“Grounded in a seamless collaboration, the process of bringing this intricate paper art to life proved truly enriching. The thoughtful exploration of motherhood within the artistic endeavor adds depth and contemplation, and contributing to a project that positively impacts the nature remains an enduring and gratifying pleasure.” ( -Marlie Décopain)

The Birdsong Society will be a global force, exploring the depths of birdsong, creating art inspired by its mysterious beauty, and working to better understand our impact on birds and their environment. At the heart of our mission is the belief that birdsong is not only a powerful force for positive change but also has the potential to inspire people to live more sustainably and with greater appreciation For The Birds.

The Birdsong Society is committed to programming, including educational discussions, panels with global experts, guided meditation series (with Birdsong Project co-founder Rebecca Reagan), curated collections of Birdsong Project-inspired filmmaking, a new upcoming Shepard Fairey collaboration, and much more. As we continue to grow, music and poetry remain central to our activities. We strongly believe that each artist’s work is informed by the world in which they come from.
