Scoring Jocelyn Moorhouse’s ‘The Fabulous Four’

Composer David Hirschfelder (Shine, Elizabeth, Australia, The Railway Man, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, Sanctum) is reuniting with director Jocelyn Moorhouse (How to Make an American Quilt, A Thousand Acres) on the upcoming comedy The Fabulous Four.

The film, starring Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Megan Mullally, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, follows three lifelong friends who travel to Key West, Florida, to be bridesmaids in a surprise wedding of their college girlfriend, where their sisterhoods are rekindled, and the past rises again in all its glory.

Ann Marie Allison and Jenna Milly (Golden Arm) wrote the screenplay. Richard Barton Lewis (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Backdraft) and Lauren Hantz (Lee, The Listener) are producing the project. Hirschfelder previously scored Moorehouse’s 2016 feature, The Dressmaker. Bleecker Street will release The Fabulous Four in theaters nationwide on July 26, 2024.

Note that Sophie von Haselberg is in the movie as well. Bette and Sophie together!

The song used in the trailer is Tom Jones’ “Give A Little Love.” There have been hints that there will be a soundtrack as well. Keep your fingers crossed.
