I was at this concert. Right before she sang this song, she made a joke about George Bush and his cocaine use and some people started boo-ing (one man even shouted “shut up and sing your song Bette!”). Being extremely protective of her, I was mortified but Bette, of course, stood strong and did a great job.
OMG! I was there, great seats and an all around great show.
Naturally, we all know who my fav performer of the nite was 😉
Miss M was divine, divine, divine…

I love this song — it made such a big impact on me since Beaches (where she sang this song). It was the first time I heard of this song and had not heard any version other than Bette’s. I always get carried away by this song when she sings it — I can feel every lyric, every melody …
omgg.. tnks for uploading this MisterD 🙂 🙂 is a full concert? that one from the lincoln jazz center?
She just did this one song….it was from Madison Square Garden….a benefit concert for Katrina…

Nora Jones does a very good version. Of course not as good as Bette but it is very good too!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song… so emotional, can never listen to it without pausing for a moment
I was there that night too! I stayed through most of Elton’s bit but then left after. It was great seeing the Dixie Cups perform too!
