NYRP Fundraiser Spring Picnic Date Announced
Mark your calendars for June 1, 2016 as NYRP prepares for Spring Picnic 2016! This benefit supports the work of NYRP in all our community gardens, the parks we oversee, and the myriad of Arts & Culture Programs throughout the Summer. This seasonal event perfectly combines fabulous entertainment with delicious fare, showcases our citywide community work, and raises necessary support for our green spaces and the communities we impact.
NYRP is thrilled to honor two esteemed friends at Spring Picnic 2016: award-winning Chef and restaurateur and author Marcus Sameulsson who will be recognized for his work and support in the Harlem community and Richard Gess, of The Home Depot, a long standing partnership that has provided both financial and hands-on support of our citywide community green spaces. The evening will include the announcement of new collaborations that will allow our work to reach even more New Yorkers across the five boroughs.
Known for illuminating various parks and green spaces across New York City, this year Spring Picnic will take place at the historic Morris-Jumel Mansion in Washington Heights. NYRP and Morris Jumel have recently partnered to provide public programming on the grounds of the mansion to community members in this neighborhood, and Spring Picnic 2016 will shed light on this lovely setting for all NYRP patrons to enjoy!
