  1. I was so excited when this movie was released…on my birthday January 30th! I remember as I eagerly awaited for this movie to hit theaters I also awaited for my very own copy of the VHS release of “THE BETTE MIDLER SHOW” which I had ordered from my local video store. (I knew it was not the full unedited HBO version and that a lot was cut out but I cherished the edited version regardless…) I remember when I went and saw “DOWN AND OUT” with my parents my mother was disappointed. She stated “I enjoyed “JINXED” more that this…” (She had gone to see “THE COLOR PURPLE” a week or so before and that was her jewel to which no movie could compare. ) My dad loved the the Mazursky picture however and so did I! It grew on my mother as well that summer when I purchased that VHS movie release as well and played it over and over…I do maintain to this day it is one of Bette Midler’s best films….
