A Forgotten Title that Deserves Some love

I’ve poked around the sub and found nothing. I’ve searched through where to stream it; results say they have it, all come up not available. Hell, you can’t even find a decent trailer of the movie so I’ve included this one just so, if you haven’t seen it before, it doesn’t come off as a big bummer before it’s even given a chance.
Why is it that this movie gets so little love?
If you have any love for classic rock and/or you’re a fan of Janis Joplin which, despite the studios’ protestations, is roughly her biography, this film is most excellent. The production is beautiful, especially when you consider that much of it is documenting the production of a live music tour Bette Midler performed strictly for this film. It has a beautifully well lit film quality to it you rarely see even in documentary films about big named musical properties. It has that dreamy late 60s, early 70s vibe.
The question if this is even an accurate portrayal of Janis’ life isn’t relevant from where I sit–and I’m a huge fan. From the very first time I saw this film I fell in love with it, and I’m not even a particularly big fan of Midler’s. But dear lort the performance she gives in this film, both on stage and for the role, is as powerful as it is tragic, and I just can’t get enough of it. And, btw, unbelievably this was her first starring role. I wish other actors would give even half of what she threw on stage.
