The Stepford Wives (in theaters June 11): I saw a much meatier trailer than the one online. The remake stars Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick and Bette Midler as imperfect people stuck in a perfect town. It reminded me of Pleasantville and Big Fish— it’s definitely a big, mainstream summer flick, but it appears to have enough substance to satisfy smart and picky moviegoers.
